#SmartNetworking

It’s a virtual family. A group of friends, a crew, a posse, if you will. We meet at 7pm, twice a week, to share our news, plans and accomplishments, and to make new connections and new friends. The group is a fluid affair, as members are not always free at the given time to come and join in the fun, but there is always a lot of people to chat to! And at the helm sits Amanda, making introductions, retweeting and generally keeping us all in order!

Say what you will about Twitter and other social media, they are here to stay and they have a lot of good to offer. Without Amanda, aka @smart_bn, I would not have been able to build up such a following, which is still growing, having just reached a certain milestone (thanks, people!!).

The important thing for me, apart from having reached said milestone, is to learn how to interact with, provide exciting content to, and nurture my followers. Of course, some will come and some will go, but the core group stays, and I am grateful to them for their support. Some of said followers have become students, and the relationships I forge with them are very important to me, as I hope they are to them.

Word of mouth is of course ever so important, and any recommendation is very welcome for a small young business like mine. I cherish the recommendations I have received already, and I absolutely adore receiving feedback from students and customers buying the ALK course book from the website.

This, allied to the pleasures of #SmartNetworking, make my presence on social media worth the effort you have to invest in order to build it. So if you have the time and the inclination, join the peeps on Mondays and Thursdays, 7pm!

 

#SMARTNETWORKING

C’est une famille virtuelle. Un groupe d’amis, une équipe, un gang, quoi. On se rencontre à 19h, deux fois par semaine, pour partager nos nouvelles, nos plans et nos réussites, et pour établir de nouvelles connections et se faire de nouveaux amis. Le group change de jour en jour, comme ses membres ne sont pas toujours libres à l’heure dite pour venir causer,  mais il y a toujours beaucoup de monde à qui parler! Et aux commandes, il y a Amanda, qui nous présente à de nouveaux amis, qui retweete et nous surveille en général!

Vous pouvez dire ce que vous voulez à propos de Twitter et autres médias sociaux, mais ils sont là pour de bon et ont pas mal à offrir. Sans Amanda, plus connue sous le nom de @smart_bn, je n’aurais pas été capable d’acquérir autant d’abonnés, un nombre qui continue d’augmenter, maintenant que je viens d’atteindre un certain jalon (merci les gens!).

Ce qui est important pour moi, à part avoir atteint le-dit jalon, c’est d’apprendre comment communiquer avec, donner beaucoup de choses à lire à, et chouchouter mes abonnés. Bien sûr, certains disparaîtront, mais les fidèles sont toujours au rendez-vous et je leurs en suis reconnaissant. Quelques abonnés sont devenus des étudiants, et le rapport que je forge avec eux est très important pour moi, et pour eux aussi j’espère.

Le bouche à oreille est vraiment très important, et chaque recommandation est toujours la bienvenue pour une petite et jeune entreprise comme la mienne. Je chéris les recommandations que j’ai déjà reçues, et j’adore absolument recevoir des réactions de mes étudiants et des clients qui achètent le livre d’ALK à partir du site internet.

Et ma présence sur les médias sociaux est validée par tout ceci, allié au plaisir tiré des sessions #SmartNetworking. Alors si vous en avez le temps et l’envie, passez nous voir les lundis et jeudis à 19h!
