LIttle treasures I did not know I was such a hoarder ! During the recent move (you can read the post here), I have rediscovered vast swathes of the crockery I had left in the London flat, and without which I managed to survive for nearly five years. That said, I am very happy to have rediscovered a few things, so here is a short compendium of my favourites.

First of all, I almost shed a little tear when I found my Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye pottery, amongst which I found pretty examples of the yellow glazed stoneware, but also very traditional large bowls. Every time I use them, I think of my Grandma Suzanne’s rice salad. Which seems to prove that taste and smell are not the only way to bring back good memories.

I have also found superb Japanese bowls and dishes, which will be perfect to hold all the great dishes I want to cook after rediscovering on a shelf a book of Japanese recipes that I cannot wait to try. I already know where I am going to display them, so beautiful they are, even if they are not green, my lucky colour, but blue and white.

And then there are numerous other objects, like the cool eggcups I had forgotten about, and even some cake tins I had been looking for for a while. Now that they and I are back together, I will be able to bake madeleines and financiers ! I have also found some presents that I had received years ago and that I had forgotten. I feel quite ashamed, but hey ho, what can you do !

A bientôt !

I am wondering what else I am going to find when I will have the opportunity to empty all these boxes. It is quite likely they should remain unopened for some time , but when I have enough space to get it all out, I can promise you that I will have an enormous smile hanging between my ears. I am convinced that you too have known the joy of being reunited with some object you are very fond of during a house move, all these little things lurking at the back of the cupboard, so tell me everything. See you soon !
