A sea of green

Monsieur tALK has finally done it. Regular readers will know that a few months back, he was talking about being tired of London, and the greyness of it all. This was especially true considering how bad the weather was at the time.

Well the weather has improved tremendously (I am writing this on the hottest day of the year so far!), and I am sitting on the terrace of Arnaud’s Language Kottage, as it is now known. Situated between Henley-on-Thames and Marlow, this charming property is now home to the #LimeonaBike, and a welcome respite from urban greyness. And this despite the incessant June rain earlier!

But the sun is now shining, it is warm, and the horses in the neighbouring field are keeping me company, alongside the red kites, swallows, robins, blackbirds, jackdaws and even a couple of noisy parakeets. The company is indeed lovely, but what makes this move so good is that wherever I look, I see green.

Granted, this will not be the case in the middle of bleak midwinter, when the trees and bushes will be bare, but the lovely walks, gently rolling countryside, welcoming pubs and people will make up for that. I have already spoken to more strangers in the month and a bit I have been here than in over a year in London.

And you know what? It feels good.

So, friends and readers, if you are ever in the area, do get in touch on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram and come say hello!
